记者从合肥市科技局获悉，截至2013年，合肥市已推广新能源汽车8813辆，其中九成左右为纯电动汽车；同时合肥市也大力投建充换电基础设施，为新能源汽车推广服务。
据合肥市科技局局长朱策介绍，2013年内，合肥市再推广新能源公交车450辆，新能源乘用车2000多辆，“合肥还依托普天新能源公司建成全国首个新能源汽车全程、全网的城市级监控中心，正在试运行。”
此外，合肥市在2013年在全市范围内建成349个电动出租车充电桩，目前500辆电动出租车陆续投入运营。
合肥市分别在2009年和2010年被国家相关部委先后批准为国家首批13个“节能与新能源汽车试点城市”之一和首批5个“私人购买新能源汽车补贴试点城市”之一。
至2013年底，在合肥市运行的新能源汽车，运行总里程超过6000万公里，节约燃油约1200万升，减排二氧化碳约2.8万吨。合肥市建成9座公交车充换电站，50个电动轿车电桩群，近2000个电动轿车充电桩；建成城市级监控中心1座，信息采集监控站3个，维保站10座。
