West to East UHV cable to help fight pollution in Pearl River Delta
新华社广州２月３日电（记者李建国）西电东送“滇西北至广东±８００千伏特高压直流工程”３日举行了开工建设仪式。该工程是落实国务院大气污染防治行动计划的１２条重点输电通道之一，也是国务院保障经济“稳增长”的重点工程。工程投产后，将有效缓解珠三角地区环境压力，促进地区经济持续健康发展。
据介绍，该工程西起云南省大理州剑川县，东至广东省深圳市宝安区，横跨云南、贵州、广西和广东５３个县区，线路全长１９５９公里，是南方电网目前最长的输电工程，也是西电东送首条落点深圳的特高压直流线路。其中，云南新松站是目前世界上海拔最高（２３５０米）的±８００千伏特高压换流站。
工程总投资约２２２亿元，计划于２０１７年具备送电能力。工程建成后，每年可向广东输送电量约２００亿千瓦时，相当于深圳全年用电量的四分之一。
国家能源局副局长郑栅洁说，该工程建设不仅可提高西部澜沧江上游电能外送能力，也将有力促进珠三角地区低碳经济发展。工程投产后，珠三角地区每年可减少煤炭消耗６４０万吨、二氧化碳排放量１６００万吨、二氧化硫排放量１２．３万吨。
