9月7日，中广核与肯尼亚能源与石油部下属的核电局在深圳大亚湾核电基地签署《中国广核集团有限公司与肯尼亚核电局关于肯尼亚核电开发合作的谅解备忘录》，中广核与肯尼亚核电局双方将基于华龙一号（HPR1000）技术及其改进技术，在肯尼亚核电开发与建设方面开展全面合作。
肯尼亚为东非地区性大国和第一大经济体。根据肯尼亚政府的规划，肯尼亚计划在2030年前分4期建设4台百万千瓦级核电机组。“谅解备忘录”确立了中肯核电合作领域，包括研发、建设、运营、燃料供应、核安全、核安保、核废物管理和退役等。中肯核电“谅解备忘录”的签署，是我国核电“走出去”战略以及“一带一路”建设具里程碑式的行动。中广核牵头开发肯尼亚核电项目，对推动我国核电技术装备“走出去”将起到积极的推动作用。（记者李刚）
