On the morning of January 24, the National Energy Administration held a news conference to report newly installed grid-connected capacity of new and renewable energy sources, complaint reporting, decentralization reforms, and clean energy heating plans。

[Liang Zhipeng, deputy director of New Energy and Renewable Energy Division] Second, the continuous improvement of renewable energy use。In 2017, the NDRC and the NEA issued the "Measures for resolving curtailment of hydro, wind and PV power generation", and formulated a comprehensive solution for renewable energy consumption issues。In 2017, the generation of renewable electricity reached 1,700 TWh, up by 150 TWh compared with the same period of last year;Renewable electricity accounted for 26.4% of total electricity generation, an increase of 0.7 percentage points on last year。of this, hydropower generation was 1,194 TWh, an increase of 1.7% on last year;wind power generation was 305.7 TWh, an increase of 26.3% on last year;PV power generation was 118.2 TWh, an increase of 78.6% on last year;biomass power generation was 79.4 TWh, an increase of 22.7% on last year。Curtailment of hydropower was 51.5 TWh, with water supply levels better than last year, and hydropower utilization rates reaching circa 96%;curtailment of wind power was 41.9 TWh, with curtailment rates at 12%, down 5.2 percentage points from last year;curtailment of PV power was 7.3 TWh, with curtailment rates at 6%, down 4.3 percentage points from last year。
