According to industry statistics, from January to March 2018,nationwide newly installed wind power capacity was 3.94 GW。By end of March 2018, total national wind power capacity reached 168 GW。In January through March, nationwide wind power generation was 97.9 TWh, an increase of 39% on the same period last year;Nationwide average productivity of wind power was 592 full-load hours, an increase of 124 hours on the same period last year。In January through March, nationwide curtailment of wind power was 9.1 TWh, down 4.4 TWh on the same period last year;National average curtailment rates of wind power were 8.5%, down 8 percentage points on the same period last year。National curtailment volume and curtailment rates experienced a "double decrease"。

In January through March, provinces with relatively high newly installed grid-connected wind power capacity were Qinghai (750 MW), Henan (550 MW), Ningxia (350 MW), Jiangxi (310 MW)。Provinces with relatively high productivity were Yunnan (904 full-load hours), Fujian (809 hours), and Sichuan (765 hours)。
