据行业统计，2018年1-3月，全国新增风电并网容量394万千瓦。到2018年3月底，全国累计风电并网容量达到1.68亿千瓦。1-3月，全国风电发电量979亿千瓦时，同比增长39%；全国平均风电利用小时数592小时，同比增加124小时。1-3月，全国弃风电量91亿千瓦时，同比减少44亿千瓦时；全国平均弃风率8.5%，弃风率同比下降8个百分点。全国弃风电量和弃风率“双降”。
1-3月，风电新增并网容量较多的省份是青海（75万千瓦）、河南（55万千瓦）、宁夏（35万千瓦）、江西（31万千瓦）。平均利用小时数较高的省份是云南（904小时）、福建（809小时）、四川（765小时）。
